SV Baseball @ St. Edmond
6/3 @ St. Edmonds 2-0 W (2-2)
Ryan Stewart had himself a day on the mound and it was just what the Jags needed to get their second win of the season. Ryan was in control all night keeping the Gaels off balance and coming through with some big pitches. Ryan would throw six innings giving up two hits, striking out eleven batters and minimal walks allowed. The Gaels would have multiple runners on base but Ryan shut them down. None bigger than the sixth inning coming up with a bases loaded groundball to end the inning. Casey Hanson would come in relief in the seventh and get the save. Casey would get a huge groundball which seniors Tyler Jondle and Gauge Jones would turn the double play with a throw to Nick Field at first to end the game with the 6-4-3 double play. The bats did enough for the night but some stellar plays from the Gaels allowed them to stay in the game. Logan Jaeschke would get things going in the third inning getting an infield single and showing off that state track speed. Casey Hanson would hit a huge bomb into the left center gap driving in Jaeschke and the first run of the game. Karson Roper and Lenix Allbee would have hits as well. With Lenix's hit being a double. Brady Hanson would be the final score after reaching on a hit by pitch then stealing second and third. After an overthrow to third Brady would score on that over throw. It was a great ballgame with both teams making plays but it was the Jags on top this time.
JV 8-1 W (3-1)
The Jv team started the new week with a win. Landon vote threw all two innings of great pitching for the jags and gave the ball to Conner Rentz after reaching his pitch count. Rentz allowed one run but limited them after that. Conner would also get the big hit of the game an inside the park home run that was at the perfect time as the bases were loaded. With the deep field Rentz would make it all the way around for the grand slam. That was enough for the Jags to secure the win. Walks were plenty in the contest and the Jags made them pay for it. Kolton Ollinger would also single in the game for the Jags.
