6/13 @ Alta- Aurelia (6-7) (2-3 conf.)

Last game of the third week ended in a loss for the Jags as they fell to conference champ

Alta in a 1-4 ball game.  Last year the Jags were the only team to beat Alta but this year was a different story although there were some bright spots for the Jags. Sophomore Evan Bintz and Kolton Ollinger both threw some good innings for the Jags.  Outside of the fourth inning the sophomores held them to one run letting their defense help them.  Some really tough hops over the shortstop and third base man's heads allowed the Warriors to take advantage of the bad luck and in the end it was too much for the Jags. Offensively the bats were quieted but in the fourth they had runners on second and first no outs but couldn't get any runners to cross.  The lone hits came from Evan Bintz and Logan Jaeschke who drove in Colin Johnson courtesy running for Evan after a big double.  Unfortunately the rest of the game was uneventful for the Jags bats and the Warriors took the conference win this year.

JV Action: 6-4 W (6-2-1)

It was a day for the Bintz Bros as Evan started varsity and Ayden got the start for junior varsity squad. Ayden started slow but kicked it into gear in the second and third innings.  Ayden gave up four runs and struck out two batters allowing his defense to help out.  Alta scored two more in the fourth inning but due to time cut off in the 5th couldn't get anymore at bats and  Jags ended with a 6-4 win.  Carver Peterson would pitch the time constrained 5th inning.  Offensively for the Jags Colin Johnson added a hit and scored a run.  Connor Rentz also added a hit and ended up scoring.  Nick Field scored after a strikeout but hustled down the line to reach base safely after a catcher's error. Ayden Bintz would drive in Field after a single.  Jacob Paterson would earn a walk and touch them all to score the sixth run.  Colton Haug had a big hit which scored two runners while Dawson Tuel would have a big double, scoring the first run of the game.  Landon Vote also did a job and put the ball in play, scoring Paterson after an error by the pitcher.  All in all a solid win for the Jags jv squad after missing out on a few games this week.
