7/2 DISTRICTS vs. East Sac 11-1W (10-10)

The Jaguars opened up their district play with a big five inning win against Raiders from

East Sac. Kolson Kruse who has been playing varsity since he was an eight grader, got the call on the mound and did a fantastic job. Starting out the first with three strikeouts and never looked back. Throughout the game Kolson gave up two hits, while striking out five batters. The one lone run the Raiders scored was off an error which allowed them to score. The best part of the night was keeping Kruse under the 65 pitch total allowing him to pitch this Tuesday in their next district game.

The bats did their job lead by Drew Corell who had a monster game going 3 for 3 with a

double and two RBI’s. The last RBI was a huge one scoring, Kaden Holder who was pinch

running for Lucas Jondle who reached on an error. Drew came up with a huge hit in a huge

situation which ended the game and had himself a big day. Kolson Kruse did his job as a lead off reaching base on three walks and the one at bat that counted he struck out but still reached base with the catcher missing the pass ball. Caden Larson had a sac fly scoring Kruse in the first inning the lone run in the first inning. Colby Russell also had a huge sac fly once again scoring Kruse. The Jaguars exploded in the 4 th inning after Drew’s double, and an East Sac error allowed Colby Russell and Justin Loseke to score as Brady Hanson once again had a huge two out double scoring them. Zack Miller continued his hitting ways getting a base hit which plated a runner. Zack also had a big double in the second inning which got things going for the Jags. Lucas Jondle finished up the hitting on the night for the Jags which a single scoring Brady Hanson in the second inning.

The Jags did enough offensively and defensively to gain the win and look to Tuesday

nights matchup against Sioux Central. The Jags play the five o clock game which is taking

place at Pocahontas. The Jags lost 5-6 earlier in the season to the Rebels but are playing

much better now. The Jags look to reach the district final with a win Tuesday night. Tickets can be bought online, come out and support the Jags as they fight to continue their season.
