6/22 Iowa Falls-Alden 12-15 (7-0 Forfeit pitch count) (5-11) (3-5)

A rough start doomed the Jaguars in a non conference show down with the Cadets from

Iowa Falls, however after Coach Bachel looked at pitch counts, the Cadets used an illegal

pitcher so the Jaguars actually record a win! According to the pitch count rules established by the state, a pitcher must rest four days after throwing over 90 pitches. The Cadets put in one of their pitchers that threw over 90 pitches on Monday therefore making him ineligible and a forfeit loss for the Cadets. In game action, the cadets starting off with a seven run inning and forced the Jags to come back the rest of the night and just ran out of gas at the end. Kaden Holder started the game but a lot of walks coupled with a couple of errors and misreads allowed the Cadets to get the huge lead. Ryan Stewart would come in relief followed by Gauge Jones at the end of the game finishing out the seventh inning to give the Jags a chance of making the comeback. The Jags had some good offense throughout but just couldn’t get enough big hits when they needed them. Tyler Jondle had one of the biggest hits of the night with a 2 out single which scored two runners and cut the Cadets lead down. Tyler would finish the night 2 for 4 totaling three RBI’s on the night. A slew of other Jags recorded hits including Brady Hanson, Drew Corell, and Carl Berglund. Brady Hanson’s lone hit scored two runners while Carl also got an RBI with a walk. Too many strikeouts also hindered the Jags who sometimes just needed to get a bat on the ball and make things happen. Tough game to lose outright but after the illegal pitch count it gives the Jags their fifth win on the year. They hope to get back in the win column the right way with a big home game against conference foe South Central Calhoun to finish the week on a positive note.

JV ACTION: 2-11 L (8-5-3)

mustered two runs coming from Colin Johnson and Lenix Allbee. Lenix scored off a Gavin

Weier hit while Colin scored from a Nick Field RBI groundout. Others recording hits included

Ethan Ackerson and Gauge Jones in the designated hitter spot. Caden Kalstchnee took the

mound of the Jags who threw well but walks ended up hurting him on a hot, hot day. Seven of the eleven runs were coming off a walks with Ethan Tucker and Lincoln Akins contributing to some of those walks when they came into pitch later in the game.
