6/21 SV Baseball GTRA 10-0 (4-11) (3-5)

It was a great night at Jaguar Field as the Jags came away with big mercy rule win in the sixth inning. There were great plays all night with some standout performances. It all started on the mound with Senior Justin Loseke, who threw one heck of a game throwing a no hitter in the six innings of the game. Justin was on fire against a good hitting team that had been putting up a lot of runs on good teams. Probably the most impressive stat was only two walks in the game but with eight strikeouts Justin was dynamite. The Jaguar defense stepped up in a big way playing the game with no errors and having a big time contribution from new starter Gauge Jones who made some fantastic plays at shortstop and never allowing GTRA to gain any traction. The bats were doing their job in the win effort. Drew Corell continued his hot hitting going 3 for 4 while scoring twice and three stolen bases. Fellow senior Carl Berglund finished 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI on the night. Cale VanSickle was a perfect 2 for 2 with two runs and two walks, as senior Gavin Weier would say “Duces”. Logan Jaeschke, Kaden Holder who each had a hit both with two outs that eventually scored two runners.  Tyler Jondle, who celebrated his birthday with solid second base play also included a hit for the team.  Hane Sorenson broke out of his slump in a big way also as with two outs in the last inning, Hane had the biggest hit of the night, a roper down the right field line scoring the final two runs and ending the game with a walk off two RBI single. The Jags are starting to play good baseball they hope to see it continue with two home games the rest of the week.

JV ACTION: 4-11 L (8-4-3)

The JV team got back into the win column with a big conference match up win. A couple of walks helped the JV team’s chances with five runs in the first inning followed by three runs the next two innings to give them the comfort they needed. GTRA would score four runs in the first inning off Lenix Allbee many of them walks and past balls. However Lenix came back and had a scoreless second inning showing a lot of grit and making changes to his mechanics, which allowed him to throw way more strikes. Ethan Tucker would replace Lenix in the third inning throwing decent getting all outs on strikeouts and only allowing two runs to cross. The Jags had hits from Ethan Ackerson, a double in his first at bat that almost cleared the fence. Not to be outdone Bryson Axness and Lenix Allbee each added a double. Catcher Caden Kaltschnee added a single and Lincoln Akins rounded out the hitting also with a single. Good solid win for the JV squad who secures a winning record for the year with the win.
