5/27 vs. West Central Valley 1-3 (0-3)

The Jags suffered their third loss of the season at the hands of the wildcats from West Central Valley.  Kolson Kruse threw a heck of a ball game with 11 strikeouts and only 2 walks.  Hane Sorenson replaced Kruse in the 6th but gave up the go ahead runs on an error and walk.  The jags struck in the first inning with Kruse doubling and Loseke walking.  After Loseke was thrown out at second, Kruse made a heads up play stealing home after the Wildcats weren’t paying attention.  Sadly that was all the Jags could muster offensively and the Wildcats survived and took the win away from the Jags.

JV ACTION: 4-5 (0-3)

Kaden Holder took the mound for the Jags JV squad and started out a getting ground balls and only allowing a run in the first.  Control issues plagued the up and coming pitcher in the second giving up four runs on three walks.  Offensively the Jags struck quick getting Brady Hanson on base by an error and eventually scoring with a hit by Ethan Ackerson.  Bryson Axness would score later in the third inning after a base hit and Cale Vansickle got on with a hit eventually scoring.  A game the young JV squad could have won if they cut down on mistakes and walks.  However much improved batting was a spark for the JV squad.
