6/19 @ Newell Fonda 0-10 (3-11) (2-5)

Top contender for the Twin Lakes Conference the Newell Fonda Mustangs handed the

Jags an early week loss. The Jags couldn’t hang with the Mustangs who took control of the

game in the third inning as errors, walks and hit by pitches continue to hurt the Jaguars. Much like the rest of the season, the Jags just give up to many free bases which good teams hurt you for, the Mustangs did just that with ten runs three of them earned. Hane Sorenson started on the mound striking out one and giving up the three earned runs. Gauge Jones finished the game for the Jags giving up no earned runs and also one strikeout. Brady Hanson had the lone hit on the night for the Jags. Drew Corell had two putouts in centerfield while First baseman Cale Van Sickle chipped in six putouts. The Jags will finally be at home the rest of the week as they take on GTRA on Wednesday, Iowa Falls- Alden on Thursday and finish up the week with South Central Calhoun all at Jaguar Field in Dayton.

JV ACTION: 4-11 L (7-4-3)

The JV squad suffered a loss to Newell Fonda Monday night. The Jags couldn’t get

enough going offensively. Lenix Allbee was on fire however for the Jags going 2 for 2 with a

double. Ryan Stewart was another bright spot in the lineup going 2 for 2 as well also with a

double and scoring once. Caden Kaltschnee had a single and scored a run while Nick Field

rounded out the hitting for the Jags with a double of his own. It wasn’t enough however the

Newell Fonda cruised in the first inning with five runs right off the bat, a lead the Jags couldn’t come back from. Cale VanSickle and Ryan Stewart were the pitchers for the JV team on the

day.
