Jaguar Baseball 5/31 Manson NW Webster – 25-15 W (1-4)

A thrilling up and down game for the Jaguars saw them gain their first win of the early season. The game was 14-3 going into the fifth inning. All the Jags need to do was shut the Cougar offense down but the Cougars roared back with ten runs in the next two innings to tie the game at 15-15. With a steady rain coming down the whole night it was a challenge for pitcher to throw strikes but the Jags continued on and scored a remarkable ten runs in the bottom of the 6 th to send them with their first win of the year. Freshmen Karson Roper stepped in and had the huge hit which scored the last three runs of the game to put the mercy rule in effect. Hits for the Jags were a few with Mason Bahr going 2 of 2 with

two singles but were big ones as he ended the night with two runners batted in. Casey Hanson, Hane Sorenson and Cale VanSickle rounded out the hits on the night for the Jags getting singles. The Jag team was patient at the plate getting twenty five walks on the night. An up and down game but the Jags secured the win in the end. The Jags had a slew of pitchers on the mound. Gauge Jones started while Jaxon Meyer and Casey Hanson would come in for relief. Tough spot to come in with the bad field conditions but each of them threw some big pitches for the team in the win.

JV ACTION: 9-3 W (3-1-1)

The JV squad won their matchup with the Cougars. Scoring two runs in the first inning followed by five in the second and two final runs in the third inning. Walks were plenty as there was only one hit off the bat of Kolton Ollinger. All the Jags that walked ended up scoring for the most part. Lincoln Akins took the mound for the Jaguars. Little rocky in the second inning but Ayden Bintz came in and threw admirably to close out the Cougars only giving up three runs. Another good win for the JV squad who are playing really well right now and look to continue the momentum through the early season.
