6/11 Emmetsburg 1-4 L (4-5)(2-2 conf.)

It was a weird long night all around for the Jaguars as they traveled to Emmetsburg for a conference matchup. The Jvr kicked things off but after a huge storm blew everything around the game was postponed and with lightning in the area they were forced to end play. Then it turned into a waiting game as lightning cleared through and the Jags were finally able to get the boys out and play the varsity game. Karson Roper took the mound and threw really well but a slew of doubles in the fifth inning by the E-hawks would give them the lead at 4-1. Roper threw really well striking out five batters and walking two white hitting two batters also. Roper retired the side in the 6th inning but the damage was done and with lightning moving into the area it was postponed thirty minutes according to IHSAA rules of play. After waiting forty five minutes it was decided lightning was still in the area and was going to continue to be canceling the game making it official as a 4-1 loss. A sad way to end the game but a right one as player safety should always be the top priority. The Jag bats stayed hot for the most part with some good hits but even a hitless Gauge Jones would hit the ball hard three times just right at the centerfielder each time. Casey Hanson was the brightest spot in the lineup on the night with three singles. Brady Hanson and Lenix Allbee would record a single as well and Logan Jaeschke would double in the game and also be the lone run of the game. Jaeschke would have led off the Jags in the seventh inning but unfortunately we will never know if the Jags could have finished the comeback win or not. A well played ball game between two solid teams just ended in the worst way possible for the Jags.

JV: Canceled

JVR: Canceled after one half inning. Jags were leading 1-0 when the storm hit.
