6/8 @ Clarion Goldfield-Dows 12-25 L (2-6)
It was a rough night for the Jaguars as they surrendered a lot of runs and a lot of walks,
off a few base hits from the Cowboy bats. Playing on the new turf field, the Jaguars started off the game hot getting eight runs in the first inning, after a few miscues from the cowboy defense. The Cowboys showed a lot of guts coming back with four in the bottom half and it was all Cowboys after that scoring 18 runs in the next two innings. Pitching staff for the Jaguars gave to many walks hit batters combined with a few past balls allowed the Cowboys to score at will. Bats were not as solid with twelve runs as you’d expect but timely hits helped the Jags. Tyler Jondle continued solid offense with two hits and two RBI’s. Drew Corell made the best of his one hit scoring two runners and walking another runner in. Carl Berglund rounded out the hits for the Jaguars with a single which scored a runner as well. A tough game for the pitching staff that is at the end of a three game travel fest with each bus drive averaging over an hour and a half distance. The Jags will try to repeat last years upset win of conference champ Alta Aurelia to end the week.
JV ACTION: W 12-9 ( 4-3-1)
The JV team got another win. Playing the five run rule, the Jags got five runs in the first
two innings off some walks and timely hits. Colin Johnson continued to hit while Bryson Axness and Lenix Allbee contributed to the huge lead. The bats were alive and some walks helped their cause as well but credit to the JV team for getting those big hits when they needed them. On the mound for the Jaguars was Lenix Allbee until he reached his pitch count and then Freshmen Lincoln Akins came in and threw well. With a tight strike zone the Cowboys made a little comeback before the five run rule came into play and the game finished with a JV win!
