@ West Central Valley 2 -9 L (1-2)

A tough road loss ended the first week of the season for the Jags. It was a rough night all around but sophomores Kolton Ollinger and Evan Bintz got their first varsity experience on the mound and both threw well in their debut. Being forced into tough situations after surrendering some walks and hit batters but they both had some big pitches. The Jag offense cooled down a bit from their performance the previous night. Gauge Jones continued to stay hot, scoring Tyler Jondle after he singled in the first. Tyler Jondle was a bright spot going two for two with two walks after fighting off pitches to earn those walks. The Jags just couldn't get the big hit with bases loaded no outs and bases loaded again in the 6th inning. It would haunt them with the final score of 2-9. Karson Roper did add one hit and two walks while Mason Bahr would match Tyler's hit total with two singles of his own. Tomorrow is a new day and the Jags will look to rebound visiting St. Ed's at Harlan Rodgers on Tuesday kicking off a four game week.

JV: 10-0 W (2-1)

A slow paced JV game saw only three innings of action but the Jags came out on the top end of the result. The Jaguars mustered twelve walks in the three innings with Aiden Bintz getting a big hit scoring two runners. Caden Kaltschnee would be the other hit on the day for the Jaguar JV squad. Dawson Tuel threw both innings of the Jaguars defensive side of the innings. The slow pace only allowed the Jags two defensive innings. Dawson started out a little shaky but turned things up and threw really well to finish with bases loaded, surrendering only one run. In the second inning he retired all batters with strikeouts.
