5/31 vs. St. Edmonds 9-8 W (1-3)

A crazy, wild game for sure saw the Jaguars coming away with their first win on their young season. Player of the game has to go to Zack Miller who had an excellent pitching performance and had a huge solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game. The Jags were in the driver’s seat the whole game until the last inning where the Gaels got a couple of walks and hits, coupled by a few miscues by the Jag defense allowed the Gaels to surprisingly take the lead in the last inning. However the Jags keep fighting gaining the momentum back with the huge blast to center from Zack Miller allowed Jags a chance to win it! After Ethan Ackerson got hit by a pitch allowed Brady Hanson to pinch run for him the Jags were facing bases loaded after St. Eds intentionally walked Kruse. On the very next pitch a passed ball allowed Hanson to score the game winning run.

JV ACTION: 5-5 T (0-3-1)

What looked like a slugfest quickly turned into a tie game with both teams scoring five runs in the first inning but then going silent the rest of the way. Pitching for the Jags was Carl Berglund, Kaden Holder and Gauge Jones who came in got a pop fly to right field turning into a double play catching a runner off guard getting the double play. Gauge would only throw one pitch in the contest. A contest the JV squad could have won but sadly couldn’t get anymore runners across in the contest. Hits for the JV team included: Brady Hanson with 2, Carl Berglund, Ethan Ackerson and Kaden Holder both had doubles and Gavin Weier finished with a hit.
