Jaguar Softball Drops Two:

Southeast Valley Softball fell to the Indians from Pocahontas by a score of 0-3 after a hard fought game in Pocahontas on Monday night.

In the game, the Jags saw a lot of production at the plate recording six hits, but could not manage to produce and runs when they needed it.

Camryn Lane lead the offensive charge with two singles with Karley Rae Smith, Rian Schlief, Riley Carlson, and Kinslie Nolte each recording a single of their own in the contest.

Chloe Lambert threw another gem in the circle striking out 8 of the 27 batters she faced to bring her season total of strikeouts to 111.

Following the loss to Pocahontas, the Jags looked to bounce back against the Rams from Green County in Harcourt on July 1st, but unfortunately couldn’t hang on and lost 2-5.

The Jaguars jumped on the board right away, scoring two in the first. Karley Rae Smith would start the game with a lead off walk and make her way to third after a stolen base and a pass ball. Smith would score easily on a double lined to right center off the bat of Chloe Lambert. After reaching third on a passed ball, Lambert would also touch home while Lauren Eslick distracted the defense with a run-down between first and second base.

Southeast Valley was unable to score again in the game and struggled to produce base runners. In addition to Lambert’s double, three other Jaguars were able to produce hits in the game: Camryn Lane, Rian Schlief, and Kinslie Nolte each recorded singles in the contest as well.

Lambert threw all seven innings for the Jags, facing 25 batters and striking out four to bring her total to 115.
