SVSB @ Eagle Grove

The Jaguar softball team traveled to Eagle Grove on June 17th to battle the Eagles and walked away with a victory. The Jags defeated the Eagles by a score of 4-1 after seven innings of play.

The Jags scored first in the top of the second inning. Brooke Peterson would earn her way on base after being walked and after a pair of passed balls would sit on third base waiting to be brought in. 8th grade short stop Kinslie Nolte would answer the call and score Peterson from third on a line drive single to the left side.

Eagle Grove would respond with a run of their own in the third inning to tie up the game, but the tie was short lived as the Jags answered right back by scoring their second run in the fourth inning. Cameron Lane would race down the first base line, beating the throw to first base. Lane would steal second and come around to score on a line drive roped to the right side by Chloe Lambert for her first hit and RBI of the game.

Southeast Valley added two to their score in the sixth. Karley Rae Smith led off the inning with a double hit to left center followed by a bunt single from Lane. With runners on the corners, Chloe Lambert stepped into the box. Once Lane stole her second base of the game, Lambert took another shot down to right field scoring both Smith  and Lane to bring the score to 4-1.

Defensively the Jaguars were perfect, committing zero errors in the game. Chloe Lambert got the start and the win in the circle. Lambert faced 29 batters and retired eight by strike out and allowed just one run in the game.
