On Monday, the JV softball team opened up the season with 6-5 win against Humboldt. We looked really sharp for the first game of the season. The girls put the ball in play. Laila Christophersen led the team with RBIs with 2. Lily Reck and Taylor Willardson each had 1 RBI. On defense, Rian Schlief had 5 strikeouts in 2 innings. We had a great first night of softball, with lots of potential to improve! On Thursday, we played at South Central Calhoun. We started slow, but got our bats going to get us the win 16-2. Everyone performed well and gained confidence on offense and defense. Friday we ended our week in Stuart against West Central Valley. We played 4 innings against a tough team. Taylor Kauffman stayed tough on the mound with 7 strikeouts. Jags lose, 1-8. We had a great first week of softball, ending the week 2-1.
