SV HS Softball Weekend Recap
vs. SCC
The Jaguar softball team defeated the Titans of South Central Calhoun by a score of 10-0 after four innings of play on senior night.
Camryn Lane led the jaguars at the plate going 2-4 with two singles. Lauren Eslick added a bases clearing triple in the game and several other girls added hits as well, giving the team a total of 11.
Chloe Lambert started and won the game in the circle. Lambert faced 12 batters and struck out four.
vs. Iowa Falls Alden
Southeast Valley Softball opened up the South Hamilton tournament with a win, defeating the Cadets from Iowa Falls Alden by a score of 7-2.
Kinslie Nolte led the offensive charge with two singles. Karley Rae Smith, Cameron Lane, Chloe Lambert, Devon Olson, Riley Carlson, and Brooke Peterson would all record a hit in the game as well.
Chloe Lambert got the start and the win in the circle. Lambert faced 27 batters, striking out six. In doing so, Lambert reached a huge milestone for the season striking out her 100th batter on the season. At the end of the game, Lambert tallied a season (career) high of 103 Ks on the season. Congratulations Chloe!
vs. Ogden
After defeating the Cadets, the Jags advanced to the championship game against the Ogden Bulldogs. Despite putting on a great offensive showing, Ogden would take the game in extras by a score of 8-10.
The Jags were slow to start, but the offense got going. Cameryn Lane lead the offensive charge with two, well hit, singles and an RBI in addition to scoring twice herself. 8th graders Kinslie Nolte and Karley Rae Smith each recorded a pair of singles as well as scoring a combined three runs for the Jags. while Rian Schlief recorded the team’s only other RBI of the game. Devon Olson, Goldie Davis, Brooke Peterson, and Sage Lane also each singled in the contest. Davis, Meia Hefley and Riley Carlson also added runs for the Jaguars.
Rian Schlief started in the circle and threw 8 innings. Despite the end result on the scoreboard she threw an excellent game! Schlief faced 38 batters and kept every one of them off balance and forcing them to hit into the defense. The Bulldogs earned just 7 hits and five earned runs.
