SVSB vs. Newell Fonda 6/17/2024

Southeast Valley’s win streak ended at eight Monday night. The Jags welcomed class 1A, ninth ranked Newell Fonda to Harcourt and fell 8-0 after seven complete innings.  Southeast Valley softball now holds and overall record of 12 wins and four losses and conference record of five wins and two losses.

The Jaguar bats struggled to get anything going against a talented Mustang pitcher, but were able to get a couple base runners on to break up the perfect game and no hitter. Camryn Lane was the first to reach base safely after being hit by a pitch and Ellie Nolte would take away the no hitter after landing a well hit single into left field. Unfortunately, the only two runners of the game would be stranded at first.

On the defensive side of things, the Jags look to improve on miscues that led to several Mustang runs. Rian Schlief started in the circle and threw the majority of the first two innings. She had one strikeout and just two walks before Chloe Lambert stepped onto the mound. Lambert finished the game with four strike outs and three walks with just two earned runs.

The Jags will bounce back with five road game to finish the week starting with GTRA in Ruthven on Wednesday night.
