Southeast Valley closed out their regular season schedule in Harcourt on Monday, July 3rd against the Webster City Lynx. The Jags would fall to the Lynx by a score of 0-6 in seven innings. 


Southeast Valley struggled offensively, seeing just four Jags reach base. Sophomore Chloe Lambert doubled in the second inning, but was stranded at second base.Junior Kenna Scott would reach on a bunt single in the fourth inning and advance to second on a SAC bunt from Lauren Eslick. Scott would be thrown out at third just before senior Maddie VanSickle singled to the left side in the 5/6 gap. VanSickle would be thrown out after an attempt to reach third on a hard hit single to the Lynx right fielder from Jordyn Rowley, ending the Jags’s only scoring threat of the night. 


Maddie VanSickle got the start in the circle, throwing three complete innings and Chloe Lambert finished the game. VanSickle faced 13 batters while striking out three and only allowing 1 hit and 3 runs, none of which were earned. Lambert faced 16 batters, gave up five hits and allowed three runs, while striking out five. 


The Jags open up state tournament play with their first round of regional play on Thursday, July 6th at 7 o’clock. The Jags will face off against the Falcons from OABCIG.
