JV SB Week of 6/20

The JV Softball team started the week off at home against Newell Fonda on Monday. The Jaguars had 3 errors on defense in 5 innings, which the Mustangs took advantage of. Rian Schlief led the way with 2 strikeouts and 3 put-outs. On offense, Lailah Christopherson had 2 great at-bats, with a full count and multiple foul balls hit, drawing a walk both times. Rian Schlief went 2 for 3. Jags lost, 3 to 7.


On Wednesday, we traveled to Ruthven to play GTRA. Laila Johnson and Lailah Christopherson led the team on offense, both with 1 single on the night. Riley Carlson led the way on defense. In the first inning, Riley fielded the ball in center field and threw the runner out at second when they were trying to ge an extra base. GTRA came out on top - 5-3. 


On Thursday, the Jaguar softball team traveled to Iowa Falls. The Jags started off slow on offense, but in the 4th inning, Anna Corell started us off with a base hit. Corell was followed by a sac hit by Riley Carlson to move Corell on the bases. Rian Schlief, Ava Chase, and Paige Holmes kept us going in the 4th all with base hits. On defense, the Jags stayed tough and looked sharp until the 4th inning. Jags lose, 4-6.


On Friday, we went to Lytton to play South Central Calhoun. The Jaguars were ready to play and capitalized on errors made by SCC. Paige Holmes and Camryn Lane went 2 for 2 on the night. Lauren Johnson, Paige Holmes, Taylor Willardson, Riley Carlson, Laila Johnson, and Lily Reck all had 1 RBI on the night. On defense, Rian Schlief had 5 strikeouts; 3 in the first inning. In the 3rd inning, Anna Corell caught an extremely well hit ball out in left field that saved 2 runs from scoring. Jaguars win, 8-3.
