June 22nd Southeast Valley Softball Team Traveled to Ruthven

The Southeast Valley softball team traveled to Ruthven on Wednesday night for a conference matchup against the Titans from GTRA. The Jags lost the contest by a score of 3-6.
Chloe Lambert would get the start and would throw four solid innings. Lambert faced 18 batters and struck out four while allowing just three hits. Junior Maddie Vansickle stepped onto the mound in relief during the fourth with runners on first and second. Vansickle threw a gem of an inning, getting the Jaguars out of the jam. Vansickle faced nine batters, striking out three.
Offensively, Southeast Valley would score first on home run off the bat of sophomore short stop, Ellie Nolte in the third inning. The Titans would respond with a run of their own in the third, capitalizing on a defensive error by the Jaguars, but Southeast Valley would hit right back in the fourth after Chloe Lambert reached first base on a bunt single and advanced on an error by the GTRA third baseman. Anna Corell would run for Lambert and score on a single hit by freshman Lauren Eslick giving the Jags a 2-1 lead. They would add to their lead in the fifth when Jordyn Rowley singled and scored on a double hit by Maddie Vansickle.
The Titans would score two of their own in the fifth inning to tie the game for a second time at 3-3, but the bats would go quiet the rest of the night for the Jaguars as they couldn’t make adjustments at the plate to respond. In the sixth inning the Titans would take full advantage of Jaguar defensive miscues and win the game 3-6.
The Jags have to bounce back quickly as they turnaround and play Iowa Falls Alden on Thursday night in Iowa Falls.
