SVSB vs. West Central Valley
The Southeast Valley softball team defeated West Central Valley in Stuart on May 29th by a score of 12-9.
The Jags jumped out to an early lead in the first scoring eight runs in the second inning. In that inning the Jags would tally seven hits. Cameron Lane, Karley Rae Smith, Chloe Lambert, Lauren Eslick, Rian Schlief, and Riley Carlson would each single and score while Brooke Peterson would reach twice in the inning, once after getting hit by a pitch and again with an impressive triple to the right center gap.
Southeast Valley would plate two more in the third and one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
Offensively the Jags were lead by junior first baseman, Rian Schlief and 8th grade third baseman, Karley Rae Smith. Schlief recorded two singles, a double, and one RBI while Smith had three singles and two RBIs.
Defensively, the Jaguars wee challenged, but prevailed and made played when it mattered most. Sophomore second baseman, Kayla Field made a pair of aggressive and crucial stops to keep the Wildcat offense at bay.
Chloe Lambert threw all seven innings and came away with the win. Lambert faced 41 batters and recorded five strikeouts.
