JVR Volleyball Finishes 2-2 For the Week

The Southeast Valley JVR volleyball team finished 2-2 this past week, and

the girls have been making some improvements individually and as a team!

The girls traveled to Lake City on Monday, August 29th for a JVR quad. We

faced Emmetsburg, South Central Calhoun, and Pocahontas. Against

Emmetsburg, the team was able to come out on top with scores of 25-23

and 25-14. They played very well against SCC and won in two sets again,

25-14 and 25-12. Lastly, the girls took Pocahontas to three sets with scores

of 18-25, 25-23, and 16-18. Though we lost the third game, the girls were

able to keep the score tight and play a really fun game.

On Thursday, September 1st, all levels played at Newell-Fonda. JVR lost in

three sets to the Mustangs, 15-25, 25-18, and 8-15, respectively.

At the quad on Monday night, serving was 87% efficient among all three

games, and the girls were 75% against Newell-Fonda on Thursday. We will

need to continue progressing in serve consistency, serve receive, and

communication. Overall, the JVR team has made some great

improvements and have been good encouragers for each other!
