WB-M Volleyball 10/5/23

West Bend, IA ~ The Jaguars traveled north to West Bend to face the Wolverines of WB-M. The girls won by the scores of 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19. The offense did a great job with a .256 efficiency factor with the win. Addi Hindt led the team with 19 kills and .600 efficiency rating. Breck Mills followed with 12 kills while Alex Kitchen had 11. The balanced offense was one of the keys with their win along with the 92. 6% serving and having 11 ace serves (2.75 aces/game). Other players with kills were Scott with three, Nolte had two and Brunner and Weiland each had one. Ellie Nolte had 23 assists followed by Kenna Scott with 14.  


Perfect behind the serving line was Erica Burger, Maddie Farley, and Alex Kitchen. Kenna Scott had five ace serves followed by Addi Hindt who had four. Nolte and Schlief chipped in one each.


Defensively, the girls had a total of 41 saves with Nolte leading the way with 13. Rian Schlief and Kenna Scott each had eight. Addi Hindt also had seven saves. Breck Mills led the team with three solo blocks.   


The girls were able to keep the Wolverines from setting up the offense by attacking strongly during the night and keeping them off balanced. Senior Kierstin Montag from WB-M was averaging 10.76 kills per game and last night she only averaged four kills per set.  


The Jaguars are now 13-10 overall and 5-4 in conference. They travel to Martensdale-St. Mary on Saturday, October 7th and finish the regular season at home on Thursday, October 12th with senior night.  


JV Goes 4-0 This Past Week


The junior varsity squad went 4-0 during the week of October 2nd. At the triangular they hosted on Monday night, they defeated Emmetsburg 25-9 and 25-11; East Sac County 25-17 and 25-9; and Pocahontas Area 25-21 and 25-17.  


The girls went 100% with their serving in their win against Pocahontas Area. Perfect for serving during that match were Jondyl Warland, Annabelle MacRunnell, Rylie Carlson, Maddie Farley, Liberty Suchan, and Kayla Field. Rylie Carlson and Liberty Suchan had three ace serves. Annabelle MacRunnell had two and Maddie Farley and Kayla Field each had one ace serve.  


For the night Maddie Farley had 18 kills, Mila Johnson had 13, Rylie Carlson 14, Lizzie Thompson had seven, Jondyl Warland had three and Camryn Lane had one. Jondyl Warland had 24 assists while Kayla Field had 22 for the night. Rylie Carlson, Camryn ,Maddie Farley, and Lizzie Thompson each had one assist.


On Thursday night in West Bend, they defeated the Wolverines in two by the scores of 28-26 and 25-16. The squad will conclude their season at home against GTRA on Thursday, October 12th.
