Varsity Wins the Three

Storm Lake, IA ~ The Lady Jaguars took care of the Panthers of Storm Lake St. Mary’s in quick fashion Tuesday night by the scores of 25-6, 25-8, and 25-9. The team served at 89.7% and averaged 5.6 ace serves per match. Ellie Nolte and Breck Mills were 100% with their serving. Alex Kitchen and Rian Schlief had five ace serves followed by Addi Hindt having four.


Defensively, Rian Schlief and Addit Hindt had eight saves each. Kitchen had four saves while Nolte had three. To earn a save, a member has to dig up an attack from the opposing team and then the offense has to have a kill from that save. Breck Mills had three solo blocks while Kitchen and Hindt had an assist block.  


With offense, it was one of the best performances of the season. The girls had an efficiency rating of .344 for the night. Leading the team with kills was Alex Kitchen with ten followed by Addi Hindt with nine. Others having kills were Breck Mills had five, Paige Weiland with four, Schlief had two and Nolte, Scott, and Brunner having one each. Kenna Scott had 15 assists while Ellie Nolte had 14.  


The team stands at 7-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
