JVR Home Volleyball Tournament
The JVR volleyball team kicked off our week with our home tournament on Saturday, October 5th. We had two teams compete against six other schools.
Southeast Valley Black started off the day in pool play and finished 1-1-1. The Jags defeated Fort Dodge, 21-5,21-16, Lost to Kuemper, 7-21,8-21,and split with South Central Calhoun, 23-21, 19-21. They played in the Consolation and defeated Eagle Grove, 21-14,21-19. The girls did a great job overall and had fun throughout the day. Overall, we were 2-1-1. Throughout the entire tournament, SV Black had 86% serving efficiency. Players on the Black team were, Reagan Pearson, Sage Lane, Dani Bethel, Shayden Hefley, Peyton Lockner, Jacey Carlson, Addy Lundquist, Emily Wilson, Leah Mills and Leslie Hemmestad.
Southeast Valley Teal went 3-1-1 in matches throughout the day. They beat Manson NWW, 21-10 and 23-21, St. Edmond 21-14 and 21-10, and split with Eagle Grove 20-22, 21-17, during pool play to take first in their pool. During bracket play, the girls beat SCC in two sets, 21-13 and 21-15. In the championship, the team faced Kuemper again and lost with scores of 8-21 and 19-21. Leading the Jaguars in ace serves was Mae Searcy with 18. Mylee Swanson had 7 aces, followed by Addi Larson and Kallie Thompson each having 5 and Avrie Hanson had 3. Kallie Thompson had 31 assists for the day. Trinity Anderson led the team with 16 kills, followed by Mae Searcy with 13. Addi Larson and Mylee Swanson each had 6 kills. Another player helping offensively was Ruby Stimpson. SV Teal was 93% from behind the serving line throughout the whole day.
