SV Volleyball Opens the Season
JV Opens 2025 Season Going 2-1
Lake City, IA - The junior varsity volleyball squad opened the season on Monday, August 25th going 2-1 in quadrangular at SCC. The girls opened the night losing to Newell-Fonda by the scores of 21-25 and 22-25. In the second match of the night the girls defeated South Central Calhoun (SCC) by the scores of 25-12 and 25-17. In the final match of the night the team beat Coon Rapids-Bayard by the scores of 23-25, 28-26, and 15-9. During the night the Jaguars utilized Kalli Thompson, Reagan Pearson and Charlotte Blair as setters. Back row specialists were Mylee Swanson, Avrie Hanson, and Farrah Tuel. Hitters for the team were Mae Searcy, Trinity Anderson, Addie Larson, Goldie Davis, Sage Lane, and Reagan Pearson.
Jaguars vs. Eagles
Gowrie, IA - The Jaguar volleyball team opened the season officially with all three levels taking on the Eagles of Eagle Grove on Tuesday, August 26th.
JVR opened the night sweeping the Eagles by the scores of 21-11 and 21-13. Perfect behind the serving line were Charlotte Blair, Farrah Tuel, Peyton Lockner, and Bella Dorsey. Bella Smith had four kills for the night while Shayden Hefley had one. Setters in the first game of the match were Charlotte Blair and Farrah Tuel. Middle hitters were Bella Smith and Jaylon Zika. Outside and backrow players were Shayden Hefley, Emily Wilson, Addison Lundquist, Jacey Carlson, Brylee Alliger, Molly VanSickle, Tenley Kastendieck, and Alyssa Luhmann. Setters in the second game of the match were Bella Dorsey and Peyton Lockner.
The junior varsity team won by the scores of 21-18 and 21-13. Setters for the team were Kalli Thompson, Reagan Pearson, and Charlotte Blair. Thompson had five ace sets while Blair had four. Perfect behind the serving line were Mae Searcy, Reagan Pearson, Addie Larson, Kallie Thompson, Farrah Tuel, Charlotte Blair, and Mylee Swanson. The team served at 98% for the match. Swanson had four ace serves while Searcy had one. The team had 13 kills with Mae Searcy leading the way with five. Trinity Anderson followed with three kills. Pearson, Larson, Sage Lane, and Goldie Davis each had two. Anderson, Larson, and Davis each had one solo block. The JV squad consists of Avrie Hanson, Charlotte Blair, Mylee Swanson, Kalli Thompson, Goldie Davis, Addison Larson, Mae Searcy, Sage Lane, Trinity Anderson, Jaylon Zika, Farrah Tuel, and Reagan Pearson. The team is 3-1 overall.
Varsity Wins in Three
The varsity squad took to the court and won in three games by the scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-12.
The team served at 94.4% with Kinslie Nolte, Camryn Lane, and Riley Carlson perfect behind the serving line. Rian Schlief led the team with five ace serves while Carlson and Liberty Suchan each had four. Madelyn Farley led the team in offense with 13 kills. Lizzie Thompson had six and Schlief and Carlson each had three. Defensive specialist Kayla Field had 10 digs. Lizzie Thompson had two solo blocks while Farley and Suchan had one each. The varsity team opened the season with the following players: Riley Carlson, Lizzie Thompson, Camryn Lane, Rian Schlief, Madelyn Farley, Kayla Field, Liberty Suchan, Mae Searcy, Mylee Swanson and Kinslie Nolte.
The squad travels to Alta on Thursday, August 27th to take on the Warriors of Alta-Aurelia.
