Greene County Rams Win JV Invitational

Gowrie, IA ~ The Jaguars hosted their annual invitation on Saturday, September, 17th and ended up going 2-2 overall and placing fifth. The opened up with Carroll and lost by the scores of 15-21 and 13-21. The played SCC in the next match and lost by the scores of 11-21 and 11-21. In the third match of pool play the defeated the Ogden Bulldogs 21-16 and 21-18. In the consolation bracket they ended up defeating the Eagles of Eagle Grove by the scores of 15-21, 21-12, 15-10.


The girls served at 90% efficiency for the day with the best serving against the Tigers of Carroll at 93%. The team was only 86% efficient against Eagle Grove, but had 10 ace serves. Erica Burger was perfect behind the serving line. Autumn Jones-Popp led the team with nine ace serves during the invitational. The team averaged 7.7 digs per game. Anna Corell had 13 saves for the day followed by Autumn Jones-Popp with twelve.  Leading the team with kills were Abby Halligan and Mila Johnson each having ten. 

The standings at the end of the day were as follows: Greene County, Carroll, South Central Calhoun, East Sac County, Southeast Valley, Eagle Grove, Pocahontas, and Ogden.
