Jaguars Take On Titans

Graettinger, IA ~ The SV volleyball team traveled up to Graettinger to complete the regular volleyball season against the Titans of GTRA. 


JVR opened the night losing by the scores of 21-25 and 19-25. Perfect behind the serving line was Dani Bethel, Leah MIlls, and Peyton Lockner. Reagan Pearson, Shayden Hefley, Sage Lane, and Leah Mills each had one ace serve. Pearson led the team with two kills while Hefley, Lane, and Mills each had one. Others competing during the night were Jacey Carlson, Ruby Stimpson, Leslie Hemmestad, and Emily Wilson


The JV opened the match losing the first game by the score of 21-25. They turned things around in the second match winning 25-6. In the third game, the team was behind 12-14 but came back to win 16-14. The team handled the pressure very well.


Perfect behind the serving line were Kayla Field, Trinity Anderson, Mae Searcy, and Mylee Swanson. Field, Swanson, Kallie Thompson, and Liberty Swanson each tallied two ace serves during the match. Trinity Anderson had one. Leading the way offensively was Kayla Field with four kills. Liberty Suchan had two and Trinity Anderson and Mae Searcy had one. The JV team that played were Kallie Thompson and Liberty Suchan who were setters. Trinity Anderson, Reagan Pearson, and Leah Mills were middle hitters. Outside hitters were Kayla Field, Mae Searcy, and Addi Larson. 


The varsity team won by the scores of 25-8, 25-13, and 25-12. The team served at 92.9% and had a total of 10 ace serves. Perfect behind the serving line was Anna Corell and Madelyn Farley. Rian Schlief led the team with five ace serves while Farley had two and Lizzie Thompson, Camryn Lane, and Anna Corell each had one ace serve.


The team had 35 saves with Annabelle MacRunnel and Anna Corell saving the ball 10 times each. Farley had six saves while Lane had three, Kayla Field and Liberty Suchan had two, and Thompson, and Carlson had one.


The team offensively was efficient at .270 with Madelyn Farley having eight kills and .412 efficient with her hitting. Rian Schlief had seven kills, Liberty Suchan and Lizzie Thompson had five each, and Riley Carlson had four. Camryn Lane and Mila Johnson had two kills.


The team finishes the regular season at 10-14 overall and 5-6 in conference play.


Regional - The Jaguars travel to Ida Grove on October 22nd to face OABCIG at 7:00 PM.
