Jaguar Volleyball Travels to Newell-Fonda

 Newell, IA ~ The SV Jaguar volleyball squad traveled to Newell Fonda to face the Mustangs on Thursday, September 5th.


JVR opened the night and lost in two sets to the Mustangs by the scores of 15-25 and 14-25. Sage Lane, Shayden Hefley, Leah Mills, Reagan Pearson and Dani Bethel were perfect from the serving line. Sage Lane had two ace serves while Shayden had one.


In the next match of the night, the Junior Varsity squad split with the Mustangs by the scores of 25-21 and 21-25. There was not enough time to play a third game. The team served 93% with Kayla Field, Trinity Anderson, Leah Mills and Kalli Thompson all perfect behind the serving line. Addison Larson and Liberty Suchan led the team with three kills each.  


Varsity Loses in Three Sets

The varsity squad which is 2-5 overall lost to Newell-Fonda (5-2) by the scores of 20-25, 23-25 and 17-25. Junior middle hitter Riley Carlson led the team with eleven kills. She was followed by Madelyn Farley with eight. Rian Schlief had five kills and Liz Thompson had three. The team had a .228 hitting efficiency factor last night, which is better than the previous three matches they played. Carlson led the team with three solo blocks while Farley had two. The team had 14 digs (saves) with Lizzie Thompson leading the team with six. Madelyn Farley had five, Annabelle MacRunnel had four, and Rian Schlief, Mila Johnson, Camryn Lane, Anna Corell, and Kayla Field tallied one each.


The team served at 91.4% with Anna Corell and Liz Thompson perfect behind the serving line. Camryn Lane and Madelyn Farley each had three ace serves.

The Jaguars next games are Monday, September 9th, JVR travels to Emmetsburg and Thursday, September 12th, all levels will play at home against Sioux Central.
