Jags Go 1-4 at St. Edmond’s Invitational

Fort Dodge, IA ~ The Jaguar varsity volleyball squad went 1-4 on Saturday, August 27th at the Saint Edmond Volleyball Invitational. The girls opened the day with a loss to the Gaels by the scores of 18-21 and 17-21. Breck Mills led the team with four kills and two solo blocks. Lauren Johnson and Madison Lane both had five digs each. Paige Weiland, Ava Brunner, and Alex Kitchen had one kill each.


In the second match of the day, the team defeated Pocahontas Area by the scores of 21-19, 19-21, 15-12. Breck Mills had three solo blocks and two kills. Alex Kitchen and Maddie VanSickle had three kills each. Ava Brunner had one solo block and one kill. Addi Hindt had one kill and one solo block. Madison Lane led the team with seven digs.


The team then played the Lynx of Webster City and lost by the scores of 18-21 and 17-21. Brunner and Mills had one solo block each. The team was led with Addi Hindt and Alex Kitchen with three kills each. Ellie Nolte and Lauren Johnson had over 10 digs during that match. Kenna Scott had five assists during the match.


During the fourth match of the day, the girls lost to Aplington-Parkersburg by the scores of 10-21 and 5-21. Aplington-Parkersburg went 5-0 during the day and won the Invitational. Mills had four kills and Alex Kitchen had three. The girls had a difficult time

with serve receive and setting up their offense during that match.


On the final match of the day, the girls lost to Bishop Garrigan (Algona), by the scores of 12-21 and 15-21. Serve receive was a little better, but the offense struggled with their hitting efficiency. There were only six assists for the entire match.


The team finished the first week of the season going 2-5.
