Jags VB Wins Two
Manson, IA ~ The Jaguars traveled to Manson on September 12th to play in a Twin Lakes Conference triangular with Emmetsburg and Manson-NW Webster and came away with wins.
The girls opened the night defeating the E-Hawks by the scores of 26-28, 25-18, 25-23, and 25-22. Perfect behind the serving line was Annabell MacRunnel, Ellie Nolte, and Kenna Scott. Nolte and Scott each had one ace serve. With the offense, Alex Kitchen led the team with 15 kills with an efficiency rating of .222. Addi Hindt followed with 14 kills while Breck Mills had eleven. The team overall was hitting efficiently with .256 with their kills. Other players contributing with kills were: Paige Weiland had five, Nolte had three, Ava Brunner had two, and Scott and Schlief had one each.
Rian Schlief led the team with 15 digs, Anna Corell had eight, Nolte with six and Addi Hindt had five. Scott and Nolte each had 21 assists each.
Defensively, Mills had three blocks while Hindt had two.
In the second match of the night, the ladies played up and down but came out victorious with the win playing five games. The team won by the scores of 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 26-24, and 15-10). The team struggled with their serving only going at 85%. Erica Burger was 100% with her four serves. Hindt and Nolte each had two ace serves while Maddie Farley, Kenna Scott, and Rian Schlief each had one.
The team dropped down to an offense hitting efficiency rating of only .134 which caused the girls to lose two of the games. Addi Hindt had 13 kills, Breck Mills had eleven and Alex Kitchen had 10 kills to lead the Jaguars. Kenna Scott added six, Ellie Nolte had three and Paige Weiland, Maddie Farley, and Mia Johnson each had one kill each. Nolte led the team with 20 assists while Scott had 17.
Defensively, Rian Schlief had 15 digs/saves, Hindt and Corell each had five, and Farley and Nolte had four saves each. Mills and Hindt had two blocks each.
Next action for the varsity squad is Thursday, September 21st at Storm Lake St. Mary’s.
