Jags Top Titans in Final Match

Gowrie, IA ~ The Jaguars of Southeast Valley defeated the Titans of GTRA (Graettinger) on Thursday, October 12th in three sets 25-18, 25-19, and 25-21). The team served at 94.4% efficiency with Erica Burger, Ellie Nolte, and Rian Schlief perfect from the serving line. Schlief and Burger each had three ace serves while Alex Kitchen, Addi Hindt and Ellie Nolte all had two each.


The team compiled 37 kills with Breck Mills leading the way with 11 and Alex Kitchen having nine. Addi Hindt and Ellie Nolte each had six. Kenna Scott had three kills and Paige Weiland had two. Their hitting efficiency fell below the season average at .110 for the night. Kenna Scott had 13 assists while Ellie Nolte had 12.


Defensively, Alex Kitchen and Breck Mills each had one solo block. Addi Hindt and Rian Schlief saved the ball eight times each. Nolte had six saves, Mills had five, Kitchen had four, Burger had three, Anna Corell had two and Scott and Weiland had one each.


The team ends the regular season at 18-11 (6-4 conference). For the season, the team averaged .177 kill efficiency with 8.6 kills per set, a total of 778 digs (8.9/game), and served at 92% efficiency with averaging 2.3 aces serves per set. East Sac County won the Twin Lakes Conference at 22-7 overall and 10-1 in conference play.


Senior Night was held and the following seniors were recognized: Brooklyn Anderson (manager), Ava Brunner, Erica Burger, Addi Hindt, Alex Kitchen, Breck Mills, Ellie Nolte, Kenna Scott, and Paige Weiland.



JV Ends on a Positive Note


The junior varsity squad defeated the Titans by the scores of 25-3 and 25-20 on Thursday. The team served at 92% andLiberty Suchan and Camryn Lane were perfect with their serves. Riley Carlson led the team with six ace serves. Annabelle MacRunnel had five ace serves while Lizzie Thompson had four and Lane had one.


Carlson led the team with 6 kills and Farley followed with five. Other players with kills were: Mila Johnson with three and Thompson had two. Jondyl Warland had eight assists while Camryn Lane had four.  


The team finishes the year at 17-3-1.
