Jags Celebrate Senior Night with Victories
Gowrie, IA ~ The junior varsity and varsity teams came out swinging and ended the regular season with victories over GTRA (Graettinger) on Thursday night, October 16th.
The Varsity won by the scores of 25-11, 25-10, and 25-16. Highlights of the match were Camryn Lane having 17 assists. Madelyn Farley led the team with 14 kills. Riley Carlson had two solo blocks while Rian Schlief led the team with 13 digs with Farley having eight. Kayla Field had six digs. The team averaged 10.7 assists per game with 11 kills per game. Their kill efficiency was .237 for the match. They also averaged 11 digs per game. Schlief had eight kills, Thompson had seven and Carlson and Lane had two each. Liberty Suchan led the team with four ace serves while Carlson and Schlief had three each. Camryn Lane had two ace serves and Thompson had one. Thompson also had one solo block.
Seniors honored for their service were: Riley Carlson, Madelyn Farley, Camryn Lane, Rian Schlief, and Lizzie Thompson. A special thanks to senior manager Dax Maschino for his assistance over the years. The team finishes the regular season at 18-6 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
JV Wins all three games. The junior varsity team won by the scores of 21-4, 21-12, and 15-9. Perfect behind the serving line was Kallie Thompson, Mae Searcy, Trinity Anderson, MyleeSwanson, Avrie Hanson, and Goldie Davis. Thompson had four ace serves and eight assists. Mylee Swanson had two ace serves while Trinity Anderson and Farrah Tuel recorded one each. Tuel also had four assists, Addi Larson had two and Mae Searcy had one. Mae Searcy, Reagan Pearson, Goldie Davis and Addi Larson each had three kills while Anderson and Sage Lane tallied two. Other players contributing to the victory were Jaylon Zika, Charlotte Blair, Jacey Carlson, Shayden Hefley, Emily Wilson, Peyton Lockner, and Addi Lundquist. The junior varsity ends the 2025 season with a 13-8 record overall.
Regional play - The Jaguars (18-6) will face the Bulldogs of Algona (17-4) at Algona High School on Tuesday, October 21st. Play begins at 7:00 PM.
