The Southeast Valley boys’ track & field team continued their strong performances on Thursday, April 17^th at the Emily Markert Coed Relays in Manson. The Jaguars team racked up 148 team points to win the team title outpacing second place MVAOCOU with 115 points. Host Manson NW Webster was third with 91 points followed by South Hamilton in fourth with 87 points.

              The night was highlighted by a pair of school and meet records. First in the 100m dash, senior Dreyvon Steadman ran an 11.04 to break the Southeast Valley school record as well as the meet record. Kayden Showers later broke his own 200m record which he just set last Friday. His time of 22.51 was also a meet record. Both times were also fast enough for 1^st place finishes.

              Also finishing 1^st place in individual events were Alex Burger in the 110m high hurdles running a time of 15.64 and Colin Johnson won the 400m hurdles in a time of 56.66. Alex was a close 2^nd to Colin in the 400m low hurdles running a time of 56.74. 

              Owen Nuss won a bronze medal in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.91 while Deegan Brandel continued to improve his own freshman record in the discus, winning 3^rd place with a throw of 126-03”. Logan Jaeschke picked up a pair of 4^th place finishes. He ran 11.65 in the 100m dash and a season best 23.72 in the 200m dash. Lincoln Akins also ran a season best in the 1600m run with a 5:03.13 to finish 4^th and finish 5^th in the 3200m run (11:22.09). Kolton Ollinger also took 4^th in the 110m high hurdles with a season best of 16.78.

              The sprint medley relay, shuttle hurdle relay and 4 x 200m relay teams also found themselves crossing the finish line in 1^st place on Thursday. The quartet of Dreyvon Steadman, Casey Hanson, Kayden Showers and Colin Johnson took 1^st in the sprint medley (1:41.82) while Alex, Casey, Kolton and Colin teamed up to win the shuttle (1:04.66) and Dreyvon, Bryce, Kayden and Logan went 1:34.50 to win the 4 x 200m relay.

              The 4 x 100m relay of Dreyvon, Bryce, Kayden and Logan took 2^nd in the 4 x 100m relay (44.79) while Owen, Casey, Drew Dorsey and Ethan Tucker took 3^rd in the 1600m medley (4:11.29). Casey, Owen, Kolton and Keelan Wellman then ran 3:44. 36 in the 4 x 400m to finish 4^th. Finishing 6^th in the 4 x 800m relay was Ethan Tucker, Drew Dorsey, Landon Vote and Logan Bintz in 9:58.04. Joe Kauffman was 8^th in the shot put with a PR throw of 37’ 4”. 

              The Jaguars will next compete in Gowrie in their home coed relays on Tuesday, April 22nd before heading to Newell-Fonda on Friday, April 25^th. Southeast Valley then returns to Manson on Tuesday, April 29^th.
