Boys Wrap Up Indoor Season

The Southeast Valley boys’ track & field team wrapped up their 2022 indoor season on Friday, March 18th, 2022 at the BV Elite meet in Storm Lake. The Jaguars walked away with several top ten performances in the large meet.

   Kaleb Scott brought home the gold medal in the high jump. Kaleb jumped 6’ 4” for the win. Aaron Graves set the school record with a throw of 50’ 2.5” to claim runner up honors in the shot put while teammate Ethan Ackerson had the second best throw in school history to finish 4th. Ethan’s best throw of the night was 47’ 4.5”.

   The Jaguars also picked up a second place finish in a time of 4:57.77 in the 1600m run by Cooper Nuss. Asa Haub ran the 1600 in 5:38.17.

   The long jump saw a pair of Jaguars finish 4th and 5th. Kolson Kruse set a season best with a jump of 19’ 2.5” and teammate Tre Fisher was inches behind in a jump of 19’ ¼ “.  

   Two relays picked up 7th place finishes. The 1600m medley relay team of Carl Berglund, Tre Fisher, Kolson Kruse and Oscar Hanson finished in a time of 4:04.01 and the 4 x 200m relay of Kruse, Berglund, Fisher and Scott crossed the finish line in a time of 1:40.06.

   The 4 x 800m relay of Cooper Nuss, Carter Ferry, Zach Thompson, and Caelan Oakes-Sudhish ran a season best of 9:48.37 to finish 9th.

   In the 60m hurdles, Ty Klatt ran the 3rd fastest time in school history in 9.64 while Michael Eslick set the 10th fastest in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.94. Andrew Miller jumped 5’ 5” in the high jump to set the 8th best jump in SV history.

   The Jaguars will have a week break before they start up the outdoor season on Monday, March 28th in Jefferson.
