Jag Boys Compete at Humboldt Indoors

The Jaguars were hoping for some luck of the Irish as they competed in the Humboldt Indoor meet on Friday, March 17th in their last indoor meet of the season.

Ethan Ackerson was the top finisher of the night for the Jaguars putting a huge career PR of 51’ 7” in the shot put to take the gold medal. This was the second farthest throw in school history. Teammates Justin Loseke (44’ 3”) and Nate Scott (43’ 4”) also had outstanding nights in the ring finishing 2nd and 5th respectively while Evan Zeka threw a PR of 34’ 8”.

A couple Jaguars were able to claim silver during the meet. Andrew Miller tied his best high jump with a jump of 5’ 8” and Cooper Nuss finished second in the 1600 with a time of 5:01.39.

Eli Johnson took 6th place in the 400m dash in a time of 57.20, followed by Jace Hanson who ran 57.97 to finish 8th. The shuttle hurdle team of Colin Johnson, Jace Hanson, Isaiah Ihrig, and Ben Thompson also took 6th running the 4th fastest indoor time in school history running 43.91.

Isaiah Ihrig took 8th place in the 800m dash in a time of 2:27.93. Isaiah also ran a 10.92 in the 60m high hurdles which is 10th best in school history. Carl Berglund, Dreyvon Steadman, Preston Kennedy and Brady Hanson also took 8th place in the 4x200m relay in a time of 1:46.05.

The Jaguars will have a week of practice after Friday, before starting the outdoor season at Jefferson on Monday, March 27th and then heading to Gilbert on Friday, March 31st for the Roland Story quadrangular.
