JH Baseball Wraps Up Successful 2025 Season
The Junior High Baseball program wrapped up the 2025 baseball season with two more wins on Thursday, July 3rd. The two games were played in Dayton on SV's home field, versus the Ogden Bulldogs.
In the first game of the day, the 7th graders used five run innings in both the first and last inning to secure a 11-6 win, cementing an undefeated season with a 14-0 record.
Grant Ott had a very nice double in the bottom of the 4th inning, driving in Jaxon Van Cannon to tie the game at 6-6. Griffin Vote then added a shot out to left field and drove in two more runs/RBI. Jax Hindt, Andrew Wanat, and Bennett Nolte all pitched in the contest.
Members of the 7th Grade ball team are as follows: Tristan Hanson, Boe Davis, Bennett Nolte, Wyatt Muench, Jaxon Van Cannon, Reece Carlson, Grant Ott, Griffin Vote, Jax Hindt, Nolan Albright, Andrew Wanat, Jaxson Johnson, Bryson Christian, and Cayl Carlson.
In the second ball game of the day vs. Ogden, the 8th graders scored 3 runs in the first, 5 runs in the 2nd, and 4 runs in the 3rd to win 12-0 over a team that defeated SV 7-6 earlier in the season.
August Akins pitched a full game, allowing only four hits, zero earned runs, and three strikeouts. Offensively, the 8th grade squad raked in five extra-base hits. Josiah Hefley went 2-2 with two doubles, 2 runs scored, and a game high four RBI. Akins also went 2-2, with one double, two runs scored, and two RBI. Tucker Ollinger went 1-1 with another double, a BB, and two runs scored. Bennett Nolte had another double, as he reached base twice and scored both times around the bases. Ethan Martin, Colton Bachel, Carter Lloyd, Jackson Bintz, and Tristan Hanson all added one hit each.
The 8th grade record on the season finished at 10-2-1.
