8th Grade Baseball Wraps Up Season

The 8th grade baseball team for Southeast Valley wrapped up their summer baseball season with a road contest at Jefferson as they competed against the Greene County Rams. The Jaguars kept it close in the first two innings, but in the end the Jags fell by the score of 0-8.

Ethan Tucker pitched well to start off the game, as he only allowed one base hit, zero earned runs, and struckout three Greene County batters in two full innings of work. After two innings of ball, the Jaguars only trailed 0-2 and well within striking distance. With some arm soreness, Tucker needed some relief entering the bottom of the third inning and the Jaguars gave up five runs in the inning. Ryan Stewart pitched the bottom of the 4th inning and struck out two consecutive batters to end the inning. Offensively, the Jags either reached base by earning a base on balls or hit by pitch. Jaguars reaching base were Colin Johnson (twice), Kayden Showers, Nate Spencer, and Johnny Gregory.

The 8th grade baseball team improved their win total from a season ago, finishing this season with a 3-8 record compared to just a one win season last summer. Members of this year's team are as follows: Lincoln Akins, Colin Johnson, Kayden Showers, Drew Temple, Drew Dorsey, Nick Field, Nate Spencer, Ryan Stewart, Johnny Gregory, Ethan Tucker, Byce Hanson, Dustin Nordin, Jaiden Foy, and Conner Brandon.
