JH Baseball Closes Out 2024 Season
The 7th and 8th Grade baseball teams both closed out their 2024 summer season on Monday, July 1st.
The 7th grade ball team won by the score of 11-2 and completed a 10-1 record season. August Akins led the Jaguars with a game high 4 RBI. Ethan Martin and Carter Lloyd also recorded an RBI. Members of the 7th grade squad this summer were: Jackson Bintz, Jameson Bernau, Carter Lloyd, Colton Bachel, Ethan Martin, Jonny Snider, Blaine Peterson, Josiah Hefley, Tucker Ollinger, August Akins, Kinnick Meyer, Brock Norine, and Colden Mapel.
The 8th grade team closed out the season in walk-off fashion, winning by the score of 8-7 in the bottom of the 4th inning. On the heels of an intentional base on balls for Caden Cramer, Colton Haug stepped up into the batter's box and roped a hard hit ball to center field and drove in the winning runner in Dawson Tuel to earn the come from behind victory. The Jaguars trailed 5-7 entering the final chance with the bats. Conner Rentz and Keelan Wellman also scored in the final inning. Tuel, Rentz, and Landon Vote all gave their best on the mound, and in some extreme pressure situations. The 8th graders concluded the season with a 9-1 record. Members of the 8th grade squad this summer were: Tuel, Rentz, Wellman, Vote, Haug, Cramer, Jake Paterson, Carver Peterson, Colby Peterson, Caden Milham, Brennan Milham, and Ben Wanat.
