JH Boys Travel to Pocahontas

The Junior High Baseball squads travelled to Pocahontas on Tuesday, June, 21st. The 7th graders won by the score 12-5 and the 8th grade fell by the score of 3-8.  


In the first game of the day, Spencer Peterson pitched a full four inning contest, striking out four Pocahontas batters, allowing only four hits, and gave up five base on balls. Casey Hanson led the way as the lead-off man, going 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI's at the bat. Hanson scored all four times he reached base. Logan Jaesche went 2-3 with the bat, both hits being hard hit doubles. Wyatt Goodpaster went 2-2 from the batter's box, earning a triple and a single base hit. Jacob Reck scored twice and drove in two RBI's. Elijah Weier, Karson Roper, and Evan Bintz all recorded one hit apiece. Roper, Jaeschke, Goodpaster, Bintz, Clay Lambert, and Nolan Fisher all scored runs as they earned their way around the diamond and crossed home plate.  


In the 8th grade game, Lincoln Akins got the start on the mound. Akins went 3 1/3 innings pitched, only giving up 2 hits and walked 5 Pocahontas batters. Three of the six runs scored versus Akins as the pitcher were unearned runs coming off of six Jaguar errors in the field. Offensively, Nick Field and Kayden Showers recorded one hit apiece. Scoring for the Jaguars were Colin Johnson, Dustin Nordin, and Field.
