On Thursday, June 16th, the JH Baseball teams travelled to Fonda to take on the Newell-Fonda Mustangs for a 12pm start.

In the opening game, the 7th Grade team defeated the Mustangs 9-3 in a 4 inning ballgame. Karson Roper pitched a complete game, striking out five Mustang batters while only giving up 3 runs on two hits allowed. The Mustangs were held scoreless until the bottom of the final 4th inning. Offensively, Logan Jaeschke roped a double deep to left field in the top of the 4th inning, and scored twice in the contest. Roper also scored twice and earned two stolen bases for his efforts making his way on base with a base hit and a hit by pitch. Clay Lambert and Casey Hanson each earned a base hit at the plate, both scoring 1 run each. Other players reaching base and scoring were Jacob Reck, Kolton Ollinger, and Spencer Peterson.

In the 8th grade game, the Jaguars faced a solid Mustang pitcher, falling by the score of 1-9. Kayden Showers went 1-2 batting, earning a double in the top of the first inning and crossing the plate for the lone Jaguar hit and score. The Jaguars struck out a total of 12 times in the ball game, with Drew Temple being the only other Jaguar to reach base, earning a base on balls and a stolen base in the first inning. The 8th grade team looks to bounce back vs. Manson-Northwest Webster on Monday, June 20.
