7th Grade Baseball vs. Greene County 6/29

The 7th grade baseball team for Southeast Valley needed an offensive scoring showcase to keep their undefeated season alive and well as they looked to wrap up the 2022 campaign on the road versus the Greene County Rams on Wednesday, June 29th.

With the Rams and Jaguars matching each other in the scoring column in both the first and second innings, all tied up 9-9 going into the 3rd inning, the Jaguars kept the bats alive and plated nine more runs and shut down the Ram scoring in the bottom of the final two innings of the ball game to win 18-9 and finish the season with a 12-0 record.

Casey Hanson pitched the final two innings, being called upon to close the game and the season on a high note. In two innings of work, Hanson struck out five Ram batters and only allowed one hit and allowed no runs to score. Spencer Peterson and Kolton Ollinger also pitched an inning each in the game.

Offensively, Hanon and Karson Roper combined to go 4-5 at the plate and scored a total of eight runs in the top of the batting order. Roper also added 3 RBI's and Hanson added two RBI's and three stolen bases. Logan Jaeschke finished 2-4 at the plate, reaching base all four at bats and roped a double in the 2nd inning and finished with a game high 5 RBI's. Both Jaeschke and Wyatt Goodpaster scored three runs in the game. Other Jaguars to cross the plate were Jacob Reck (1-3 with 1 RBI), Ollinger (2 walks earned), Evan Bintz (a walk earned), and Elijah Weier (a walk and a stolen base).

Congratulations to the 7th grade players and parents on a very successful season. Team members include Casey Hanson, Karson Roper, Wyatt Goodpaster, Logan Jaeschke, Jacob Reck, Brayden Coleman, Rafe Kilstrom, Kolton Ollinger, Clay Lambert, Evan Bintz, Ayden Bintz, Elijah Weier, Spencer Peterson, and Nolan Fisher.
