JH Baseball Keeps Rolling

The Junior High baseball squad kept things rolling between the dates of June 15th through the 23rd, adding 8 more wins as a club.

On Thursday, June 15, the Jaguars traveled to Fonda and defeated the Mustangs 9-6 in the 7th grade game and won 7-4 in the 8th grade game. Dawson Tuel finished the day going 3-3 from the plate, connecting for a double and driving in 3 RBI's. Landon Vote and Conner Rentz each scored twice. Also scoring in the 7th grade game was Caden Cramer, Wyatt Blair, and Colton Haug. In the 8th grade game, Spencer Peterson started on the hill and Kolton Ollinger came in the bottom of the 4th inning to earn the save. Peterson struck out 4 N-F batters in 3 innings on the mound. Peterson also helped himself when it came to at-bats, going 3-3 with 3 singles and 4 total RBI's driven in to score. Also scoring for the 8th grade were Jacob Reck (2), Peterson, Rafe Kilstrom, and Hayden Greene.

On Monday, June 19, the Jaguars then traveled up north real quick and faced the Cougars of Manson-Northwest Webster. In the first ball game of the morning, the Jaguars won 10-3, and in the second ball game the Jaguars won a close one 7-5. Pitching on this day were Noah Nelson, Landon Vote, and Rafe Kilstrom. Jacob Patterson added a double, and Conner Rentz reached base all three times he was up to bat. Evan Bintz earned a solid hit up the middle and drove in an RBI.

On Wednesday, June 21, the Jaguars welcomed our neighbors to the southwest in the Greene County Rams. In the first matchup of the day, Carver Peterson pitched a gem and helped lead the Jaguars to a 15-0 victory. Carver Peterson pitched an entire game shutout, and Jesse Foster stepped up big and recorded his first hit of the season and drove in two RBI's. Jacob Patterson continued his job as the cleanup hitter, as he recorded a double and cleared the bases with a 3 RBI shot to left field. In the 8th grade game, another pitching showcase was being performed on the bump. Jaxon Meyer pitched a full game, recording a season high 10 strikeouts in four innings, helping the Jaguars secure a 12-1 victory. Offensively, Casey Hanson added a double and had one RBI, and Clay Lambert had a nice hit up the left side of the infield. Catching duties for the two games included Dawson Tuel and Rafe Kilstrom.

And on Friday, June 23, the Jaguars traveled west on Highway 20 and played SCC in Lytton. The Jaguars were hot at the bat, as they combined to score 33 runs on the day. In the first game of the double-header, the Jaguars won by the score of 16-7, giving up 5 runs later in the contest. Jacob Patterson, again in the clean-up role in the line-up, earned another double on the season and finished with 3 RBI's in the game. In the second game, the Jaguars won 17-1, with Karson Roper tossing a strong full game performance. In the first match-up between the two schools, SCC had earned the win by the score 8-10. Mason Bahr roped in a triple and a couple RBI, and Reck added a couple RBI as well. Also scoring for the Jaguars were Casey Hanson, Kolton Ollinger, Conner Rentz (courtesy runner for Rafe Kilstrom), Jaxon Meyer, Spencer Peterson, Hayden Greene, and Clay Lambert.
