Jags Lose Heartbreaker

The Southeast Valley football team lost a heartbreaker 20-14 to Roland Story and moved to 3-2 for the season.

The Jags defense had another great night holding RS to just 26 yards rushing and only 110 passing but that was enough to score 20 because of great field position each time they scored.

The Jags fell behind early 8-0 but fought hard the rest of the half and all the way through the 3rd quarter and the score was still 8-0. Then Roland Story got great field position from and error on our punt team and gave them the ball on the 19 yard line and they scored. Then they scored again and went up 20-0.

The Jags could have gave up but Brady Hanson had a 95 yard kick return for a TD which was also a new school record and made it 20-8.

Jags defense held to 3 and out and the Jags got the ball back and went right down the field and Cale Vansickle hit Andrew Miller for the TD and all of sudden it was 20-14 and the Jags had a chance.

Jags got the ball back but just could not find a way back to the endzone.

Coaches were very happy with how the boys never gave up and very proud of the effort on defense. The Jags offense has not been up to par the last 2 games and they need to get things figured out. The Jags had 12 penalties, turnovers, sacks, bad snaps, bad throws, bad blocking and all these mistakes are killing drives and making us punt. It starts with practice and these mistakes are the same ones they are having during the week. So they need to get this figured out so we can get back to our offense moving the ball and scoring points. Drive after drive has one of those mistakes and just ruins everything they just earned.

The Jags will have their last home game next week against Saydel
