Jags Football Ends 2022 Season

The Jaguar football team finished their season with a loss to Spirit Lake 24-6. Spirit Lake is 8-0 and ranked #2 in the State and the Jags were able to stick with them most of the game.

The coaches were very happy with the effort the boys gave all night. Very few expected the Jags to be able to compete with them as they have been dominating all season and putting up 40 to 50 points and averaging about 350 yards a game. The Jag defense held Spirit Lake to 131 total yards and kept us in the game over and over. The Jags gave up a blocked punt for a TD and had a bad snap on another which gave Spirit Lake great field position and were able to score. If we could take those 2 plays away it was a very close football game. As Coaches we are very happy that the boys finished strong. Once they knew the season was over and not making it to the playoffs the boys could have let up but they did not. They laid it on the line and that is all we can ask out of them.

We wish this group of seniors the very best. They have been part of over 30 wins the last 4 years and played in the State Quarterfinals 2 years ago and won the 2021 State Championship. Those memories will be with them forever.

2023 football players will get right back to work. They will start their off season weight lifting program right away and will start working towards next season.
