The SV JV Football team took the field in Gowrie, IA and faced a tough Woodward-Granger Hawk team on 10/09/23. The SV Jaguars ended up avenging their loss last year by defeating the Hawks, 35-6.

The quote by Defensive Coordinator Murphy summed it all up, " Defense is the backbone of any successful football team."  The JV Jaguars have only given up an average of 8 points a game through 5 games! Thanks in credit to the blitzing aggressive style of Coach Murphy. Murphy has proven when to blitz and when to fall back and play a little zone defense. "Big Play" Clay Lambert was the defensive "Dawg" of the game!

The Jaguars offense was once again Led by Mason "Showtime" Bahr rushing for a TD and throwing TD passes to Gauge "Julio" Jones, and Colin "Money Man" Johnson. Owen "The Slasher" Steck rushed for a TD. "The Jitterbug" Casey Hanson picked off a Hawk pass and ran it 75 yards for the final Jaguar score.

The SV JV Football record is 5-0 and a combined 19-3 record the past four seasons. Coach Murphy echoed Coach Johnson's statement from last week, " we have a bunch of Leaders and Dawgs at the JV level this year."
