“we had a great day to play a great course. The course is a difficult
one, but we competed. The competition was strong. It’s been a great
season. It flew by as usual but was a very enjoyable season.”
A Big Thank You from Coach Blunk!
The Jaguars would like to thank the staffs at Gowrie and Oak Park Golf
Courses for all their help this season. With all the trees that were
taken out and the crazy spring weather it took a tremendous amount
of work to get courses ready for play. We are fortunate at Southeast
Valley to have access to two really good courses. Kathleen and Paul
Johnson deserve a lot of credit for their efforts at Gowrie with all the
branches and sticks from the tree removal. Bob Runge at Dayton did a
great job, as usual, getting the Dayton course ready for play. Without
all the help from both staffs, inside and outside the clubhouses, our
golf season would not have been as successful. A thank you to Mr.
Ketcham and Mr. Hanson at the high school in their much appreciated
help in coordinating things. Most don’t realize what all goes in to each
sport season behind the scenes. And to transportation director Terry
Pautsch for coordinating all the transportation needed for the busy
spring sport seasons. Also, thanks to the Dayton Leader and Gowrie
News for their extensive coverage of our school extra-curricula’s. The
pictures add a lot to the articles. Great job!
This year’s group of golfers, boys and girls, were just a great group to
be around, one of the best a coach could ask for. No headaches, no
complaining, no drama, just one fun day after another. They worked
hard and had fun at the same time, a rare feat. I’ve been fortunate to
have great people to talk to too and learn from as well. Coach
Dahlstrom, thanks for your helpfulness, insight and wisdom the past
few years. You really helped more than you know. Coach Rice, thanks
for your continued support. It’s just been a really great golf season.
