Jags Girls Win Opener

Gowrie, Iowa - Southeast Valley (1-0) hosted the Clarion Goldfield Dows (0-1) JV/V double header. The Jaguars established a 21-3 first quarter lead and never looked back, beating the Cowgirls 61-53.  


Kenna Scott led all scorers with 26 points 6 steals 3 assists. Madison Lane finished with 14 points 6 steals 4 assists and Alex Kitchen had 12 points and 15 rebounds. Other scorers were Breck Mills with 6 points 6 rebounds and Halle Steck with 3 points.    


“It is always an exciting night when both your JV and Varsity team are able to win their season opener. We are thankful for the evening and look forward to see what we can do in the games ahead of us,” Coach Mills.


Next week the Jaguars travel for a JV/V contest against Madrid Tuesday, November 29th and Westbend Mallard Friday, December 2nd. Both contests JV will start at 4 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.  


Junior Varsity

The JV girls beat the Cowgirls decisively 37-18. Riley Carlson had 19, Camryn Lane 8, Madelyn Farley 6, Makenah Osbourne 2, and Jondyl Warland 2.
