Gowrie, Iowa - Southeast Valley (4-2) played South Central Calhoun ranked #8 class 2A (7-0) for a varsity game on Monday, December 13th. South Central Calhoun's handsy defense caused Southeast Valley to turn the ball over too much to overcome.  

Final score 34-63.

Breck Mills led all scorers for the Jaguars with 17, Kenna Scott 5, Madison Doyle 4, Shelby Mills 3, Alex Kitchen 3, and Alexis Peterson had 2.

Gowrie, Iowa - Southeast Valley (4-3) hosted Manson Northwest Webster (1-4) for a varsity game on Monday, December 14th. Manson Northwest Webster won the battle from the charity stripe shooting 14/21 while the Jaguars were 8/13. The Cougars also out performed the Jaguars scoring in the paint with 14 field goals while the Jaguars chipped in 7.  

Final Score 31-48.

Breck Mills scored 14, Madison Lane 9, Shelby Mills 3, Alex Kitchen 3, and Madison Doyle 2.   

Shelby Mills pulled down double digit rebounds with 10 and Kenna Scott had 5 steals and 3 assists.  

“Manson Northwest Webster did a good job of taking care of the basketball and taking high percentage shots. Our defense is doing a solid job. We will continue to work on building our offensive efficiency.” Coach Mills. 

Gowrie, Iowa - Southeast Valley (4-4) competed against Storm Lake St. Mary’s ranked #9 class 1A (5-0) for a varsity game on Friday, December 17th. The Panthers established a 29-17 lead behind St. Mary’s Sydney Hurd’s 17 points in the first half. SE Valley out scored 13-6 in the third quarter.  

Final score 33-44.

Madison Lane led the Jags with 17, Kenna Scott 7, Shelby Mills 3, Breck Mills 3, Alex Kitchen 3, Alexis Peterson 2, and Jordyn Rowley 1.   

“I was happy with our defensive efforts. Especially our defensive adjustments in the second half. Our third and fourth quarter efforts demonstrated our ability as a team.” Coach Mills
