Jaguars compete well against Titans

Varsity

Manson, Iowa - Southeast Valley Jaguars (3-15) traveled to South Central Calhoun (13-4) for a varsity game on Tuesday, February 1st. The Jaguars came short by a score of 44-48 in regulation despite rallying back two different times and tying the game early in the fourth quarter.  

  

The Jaguars led by Kenna Scott 19 points and 5 assists, Alex Kitchen 8 points, Breck Mills 7 points and 8 rebounds, Madison Lane 6 points, Madison Doyle 4 points, and Shelby Mills with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. 


“The teams showed resilience after battling back 3 different times and even tying the game early in the fourth quarter. Things are starting to come together.” Coach Mills 


Southeast Valley battles against Sioux Central

Gowrie, Iowa - The Southeast Valley Jaguars (3-16) lost to Sioux Central (12-7) in regulation 60-66 Thursday, February 3rd.   


Scorers for the Jaguars were Breck Mills 16 points and 10 rebounds, Alex Kitchen 15 points and 10 rebounds, Kenna Scott 13 points and 5 assists, Madison Lane 8 points, Shelby Mills 6 points, Halle Steck 2 points.    


“The girls keep growing together as a team. It shows with the passing and gathering team 14 assists while keeping the turnovers for the team down to 14.” Coach Mills


Lady Jags Drop one in Overtime

Gowrie, Iowa - The Southeast Valley Jaguars (3-17) lost to East Sac (6-14) in overtime 58-61 Friday, February 4th.   


Scorers for the Jaguars were Kenna Scott 21 points 4 assists 4 steals, Breck Mills 15 points 8 rebounds 4 assists, Alex Kitchen 10 points , Madison Lane 5 points and 2-3 pointers, Shelby Mills 5 points 11 rebounds 5 assists.  


“We are continuing to take care of the basketball better each game and we are shooting the ball pretty well. Our record truly does not show the quality level of basketball that we are playing right now. A basket here and a basket there we come out on time for most of these games. We have tough girls on the team that keep working to get better.” Coach Mills.
